I mean extremely long tours of duty, extremely short tours at home, extremely harzardous and dangerous work policing a civil war, cutting their Va benefits, sending them into battle without proper training armor and supplies, keeping them fighting perpetually (to make the coward troop haters feel safe back home whilebeing chicken hawks), willing to lie, spin, cheat, smear, even plan on leaving the soldiers in the battle field to smear war opponents and make them look bad.....with no supplies or bulltets if the congress defunds the war (instead of bringing them home safely as any sane person would). The way these bozos support our troops, if they ever say they support you...run as far away as you can.

I really wish people would stop saying retarded stuff like this. I support troops 110%. I have friends who are in the army. my father and both my grandfathers were in the army. Like I said, I support the troops so much I want them HOME! they can't win, and they're only making things worse. Saddest of all, they're just good dudes who are protecting each other. our monkey of a president would rather use a national tragedy(9/11) to turn the US into a police state(Patriot act) and start a random war(Iraq) to benifit his rich jock buddies(Exxon, haliburton) he doesn't give two shits about the troops.

I believe most Americans support our troops as do most politicians. The ones that don't need to go serve a tour in the service of our country. I was proud to serve and I want to thank our troops and their families for their sacrifices. God Bless America.

I have never heard of any American despising the troops.

Listen, just because there are people that disagree on how to use the troops from you does not mean they "despise" the troops.

As a matter of fact people trip over themselves to not criticize the troops. Its getting ridiculous actually. The military is human, they are not above being criticized. And criticism is not equivalent to "despising" the troops. Criticism makes us better sometimes.... but NO ONE is "spitting" on the troops and "leaving them on the battlefield"... that's ridiculous.

It's far more complicated than you would have us believe...the part that bothers me the most is when a family member of mine, who is currently serving in Iraq, tells me about letter's from troop haters who actually send death wishes to the the soldiers...that is sick. Why don't we address THAT? Those letters come from individual citizens or groups, not government.

The people who SENT you there are the ones who despise our troops. Also a lot of people are making money from this war too. Cheney comes to mind. But I agree, you are being used by authoritrain Republican chickenhawks.
Remember what Rumsfeld said about going to war with the army you have instead of the one you want to have?

A well regulated military is one of the US Constitutional provisions (read requirements) of the US government. Do they still teach this in school?

Our military is not employed so that they can push paper and line our border.

Our military is employed to defend our nation against foreign enemies.

Who needs enemies when you have friends like that...

I find it terrible that troops are sent over seas with improper equipment and minimal training, and then when god forbid they do get wounded in duty there is a blatant lack of medical, physical and emotional support waiting for them at home.

Support the troops by fighting for their rights. They are doing a job that many of us do not have the bravery and nobility to do. The least we can do is make sure that our troops are taken care, and by taken care of I mean have the best resources available to them as they are the ones fighting for our rights and our future.

You forgot a few things. For example, here is how liberals support our troops:

* Vote to approve sending them into combat.

* Vote AGAINST additional funding to support their efforts.

* Insist on giving our enemies a withdrawl date.

* Insist on retreat and failure because our troops haven't done a good enough job of winning the war for us yet.

As a veteran, I think you have a sad way of looking at things. No one cut VA spending it has risen every year- stop believing partisan talking points

It's not that we despise our troops, it's because of the war strategy and George W. Bush.
