I guess I go back further than this...my hat is off to Travis, developed many different picking styles for acoustic guitars that gave the guitar a multi-picked full string use at any one time (Travis picking), ...was translated to banjo use. Anyone who can play the demanding Flamingo style, and Segovia was one of the all-time best. I think that Les Paul really has to be included here, not so much from a playing standpoint, but from a developement side..He and Fender certainly did a lot to further the electric guitar and what it could do. Guitars come and go, as do the players...but my old Martin D-18 is one I am sorry I put down. I was actually getting very good on the thing in the 60's...I was nutsoid about Folk Music. Good luck and peace, goldwing

Agree on Segovia...pure gold! In the contemporary mode, I'd pick Sandy Bull and Mason Williams.

I'm not sure I did not have a coffee yet.

Let me ask Mr. Folger / he may remember . You see my alzheimer does bother me a bit. But Mr. Folger is still a good memory. Better yet , why don't you text Mr. Folger and ask him who my favorite is. I bet I told him and he saved it on that gadget he carrys chained to his leg.

Mr. Folger has funny looking muscular finger tips. Over developed . Not sure what happened to his backside. Tooo large and saggy and hanging from inactivity.

It's hard to get old.
