Really? You think Bush loves watching people lose their jobs? Really? Unfortunately the exporting of our jobs is being supported by both major parties, I refuse to blame one more than the other..........

Look, during the golden age of manufacturing, we had converted our war industries to consumer goods, while the rest of the industrialized world lay in ruins. We had no competition.
Well, here it is 50 years later, and simple assembly line work can be done anywhere in the world now, by people willing to work for a lot less.
What I'm trying to say is that manufacturing is a declining value sector. It's not Bush's fault, or the GOP, or the Dems either. It's just that the world has changed. Forcing American businesses to make stuff here, is to force them out of business.
Our best bet is to pursue the higher value jobs and leave manufacturing to the $2 a day countries.

I agree with you to a point. But please remember that Democrats are culpable as well; it was Clinton who passed NAFTA and got China into the WTO.
Otherwise, I'd like to take this opportunity to address the union-bashers, by saying JUST SHUT UP. Have any one of you ever held a union job, or a job that was so hazardous that having a union was a necessity? My husband was a tool and die maker for GM. His job involved crawling around inside presses the size of a house in order to repair them. He once had several fingers mashed, requiring a minimum of 50 stitches in each finger (including having his fingernails sewn back on.) Doesn't that sound like a lovely job? Wouldn't you just DIE for a job like that? Well, people DID die in the plant he worked in, and you fools are talking smack about the unions.
Because of the unions, YOU idiots have it easier. Who the hell do you think came up with banning child labor and the forty-hour work week?

Outsourcing is a bipartisan mess- whatever you blame Bush for you must blame Clinton and the democrats for because they do the same things. The left's insistance on over taxing not just people but corporations leads to less money in the economy. Unions such as those in the auto industry that try to suck every last dollar out of a dying industry help push such industry overseas as well.
Having said all that, the most people in the middle class are in deed leaving it on the upper side not leaving it to go to the working or lower classes.

If the unions would have worked with the manufacturers more, the management wouldn't be out on the street along with the all of the other workers. By the way bone head, this has been going on since the 70's, and began really going in earnest during the 90's. If you know nothing about business, you should just shut the hell up.

That is one of the big differences between the parties. The Republicans look at statistics to encourage investment and big business regardless of the victims. The Democrats look to encourage the development of individuals and give the victims more opportunities. Both parties are necessary to keep our economy working. After 8 years of one party, the other has to fix the consequences of the other's programs. I just say this because I am close to retirement and have noticed this throughout my life.

It is a side effect from globalization. Wall Street is convinced that by making the world equal, it will benefit everyone. The main problem with this is that those with a higher standard of living will have to sacrifice in order to raise those with a lesser life.
