Yesterday, I'm sitting at a light and a big fat hispanic woman throws a big handful of garbage (fast-food bag, cup, straw, napkins) out of her driver's side window right there - unto the street.

Was I wring for not getting out and either punching her or grabbing everything and throwing it back in her car?

P.S. I'm latina as well so for anyone who thinks I am denoting a particular race, you'd be wrong. Simply stating fact.

Believe it or not, the same thing happened to me. Luckily I was in a car with my now-ex BF who is a police sergeant who got out, flashed his badge, and made her pick up all her trash. He then lectured her about doing that in front of her kids (she had three in the car with her). On a good note, not one of the people in the backed up traffic had anything bad to say - on the contrary, the lady behind us swung around me and gave us the thumbs up. On a bad note, we both think she waited til the next intersection and dumped it there.

Unfortunately there really isn't anything anyone can do unless there is a peace officer around. Once though I read this book (fiction!!!!) about a guy who followed another guy home then paid to have a garbage truck unload in his convertible :o).

You usually can't do much about pigs that litter. Although one time when I was in my boat fishing on a local state run lake,I observed a couple of drunks in a boat tossing beer cans in the water. When I got back to shore,I went to the park office with their boat's hull ID numbers and reported them. The boats operator was snagged at the boat launch by the park rangers and charged with boating while intoxicated and taken away in handcuffs.THAT made my day!

Well, if you would have punched her, I'm sure you would have gotten arrested. But, I don't see anything wrong with throwing it back in her car. Oh well, there's always next time.

No. If it upset you, you should've said something, but if you ask me, it doesn't matter. Maybe if it were a national park, forest, or wildlife preservation, then I'd wring her neck, but it's a street; not much natural beauty to conserve, really.

Hell yes. I'm normally a lover, not a fighter =), but that shows such a lack of respect to everyone else. I bet she wouldn't like it if someone went and dumped garbage in her house - even on her street for that matter. As for the guy who said it doesn't matter because it is a street - WTF???!???

You should have thrown it back into her car after you stomped her.
