I don't need them immediately, but since I'm a shy person and I don't want my family to know, I don't want to go to the doctor/clinic to explain what I want.

So I'm wondering if I can get pills from the pharmacy....

Also, does anybody know the name of a kind of pills that is safe and universal?

Thank you.

You can go to the clinic and get them without any prescription. It will depend on your age what type they give you, but Diane is a good one to start off on or even Ginette - some birth control pills given out by pharmacy clinics are usually low cost generics of these.

If you live in the United States then, to get a contraceptive pill, you will need a prescription. You can't get them over the counter.

However, you can go to a Planned Parenthood clinic in your area and, depending on how much you make, you may be able to get birth control for free. But you will have to explain to a doctor (nurse, P.A, etc...) what you want and you will have to submit to a pelvic exam.

If you are afraid to ask for hormonal birth control from a doctor, then maybe you shouldn't be taking birth control. Especially since, if you are on birth control, you should be getting annual pelvic exams...which are a lot worse than asking for birth control, in my opinion.

What are you looking up those websites for? In 2 minds approximately this one, one the only hand, decreasing teenage being pregnant is usually a solid element, even even with the shown fact that dishing those pills out willy nilly (pun?) without easily checking on the shopper is quite reckless. i could take the view that guidance is the respond, i do no longer recommend instructing little ones a thank you to placed on a condom or coaching youthful females approximately birth control, yet instructing our adolescents the perils of 'ethical turpitude', merchandising the assumption of severe ethical ideals and the long term well being implications for women who take excitement in sexual intercourse at an extremely youthful age.

If you're too shy to talk to a doctor and take precautions to protect yourself, then you're probably too shy to be having a baby.

Your family doesn't need to know why you're going to the doctor. They don't even need to know that you're going. And for the pharmacy, people are on contraceptives for all types of reasons . For example, I use mine for irregular bleeding. Granted not getting pregnant is a nice side bonus.

Every woman is different, so will every woman's needs for contraceptives.

You can go to a clinic and get birth control OR I recommend an IUD.. the one that starts with an M? (Sorry, I just dont' remember this stuff) But anyway, a clinic is totally professional and won't embarrass you AND even if you're underage they won't tell your parents. Or family. Strictly confidential.

if you don't wont the doc then your best bet is a condom, it is better then the pill i think too
but it is never a good thing to be taking meds with out your parents knowing about it as they have to make some deacons about your health if you where to get hurt and this could effect the way that they treat you in a hospital setting so be careful and i think that they are all by doctors in most places and that is for the best i think.
if you wont the pill and not wanting to tell your mom and dad why then why not tell them it is there to help regulate your period's and help cut down the pain, you can try that at lest, especial if your not regular yet

Good luck

In the U.S., a prescription is always required. You are required to get a yearly pap smear, if you are on the pill. Only Emergency contraception is OTC, and that is because there is no estrogen in it.
