I think so. Wang (18-6, 3.69) has a better record against the Red Sox than Beckett (18-6, 3.27) has against the Yankees. It's probably going to be a low scoring game, but it will still be good. This game means more to the Yankees than it does to the Red Sox. If the Yankees sweep, they have a much greater chance at winning the AL East, and if not, they will increase or maintain their lead in the AL Wild Card race. I hope they do sweep, and take the AL East.

It should be an incredible game! The two leading candidates for the Cy Young award will be on the hill: Beckett and Wang. I would give the Yankees the advantage in this one however. Papelbon is coming off his third blown save (two of the three by the Yankees) while Joba Chamberlain is waiting in the bullpen for the Yankees. Manny Ramirez is hurt and can't be Manny, and Giambi is back for the Yankees. 'Big Papi' David Oritz is having a rare 'off year' for him, while A-Rod is putting up huge numbers and is on pace to win his 3rd AL MVP award. Of course, anything an happen, that's why the games are played. I'm not a Yankees or Red Sox fan (my poor poor Royals) but I think the rivalry is great for baseball. So, objectively, I say yes they can.

I believe they can especially after last night's game. Even down 5 runs going into the 8th inning & winning. That gives them momentum & the push they need while Boston will ponder, what happened & lose again
