I have this feeling, that I used to know what I wanted and was more calm and composed. I think this has happened because I used to lack experience and now I'm in the process of gaining that life experience.

Perhaps it will degrade with great age as your mental faculties begin to fail. But that's not what you're describing now. You're currently growing out of your ignorance and becoming aware of the many things in life that others had been taking care of for you, and that you will soon have to deal with yourself.

Mona,
True wisdom is FAR more than Knowing what you want and feeling composed and calm --- if that were the case -- there would be far more wisdom in the world than there is !!

Wisdom can come THROUGH life experience but very seldom from the LACK of experience !! Also, it should be noted HERE that wisdom is NOT simply knowledge or experience alone-- but-- a unique stand alone product which is a blending of the two !!

As pointed out by another of your responders though --- with the push of advanced age and the deteriation of the mental capacities and processes --- one CAN literally grow out of the
wisdom that they have gained --- unless by some other unique process -- unfamiliar to us on this plane that we live on -- our wisdom transends in some manner from our mental processes to a much deeper place within our soul !!!

One can only hope !!

You are indeed gaining experience and as new problems create new experiences you will eventually encounter one that has no clear choices.

Meditation has always helped me find the right choice when I am faced with such a dilemma. Perhaps, you too, could benefit from its use.

Know that you are not losing your wisdom with time but are actually gaining wisdom.

You can grow out of wisdom if you engage in activities that are harmful to you and those around you. If you stay away from those things you're likely not to grow out of our wisdom.
