Why is when you answer a question,you get best answer and the asker gives you a rude and sarcastic answer.

Most of those that Do Not Respect... THEMSELVES.... do not ... Respect OTHERS !
Hence.... the "rude and sarcastic.... answer....! "

I would like to think a person gets Best Answer because they earned/deserved it due to a great answer.
As for rude and sarcastic remarks by the Asker, I haven't seen or dealt with that type of behavior thus far and I hope it stays that way.

Very annoying!!!!!!!!!! confident, it occurred to me a 365 days in the past with a former Yahoo identity. question: "Which comes first: chicken or egg?" My answer: "chicken (alphabetical order!)" yet another answerer used my comparable answer when I submitted it. His advance into chosen ultimate answer. became out to be a collection of two persons who had somewhat game going the place she would pose a question; he would answer; and no count how inane (or insane) the respond, his would be chosen for the ten factors. An occasion -- she asked the question: "Who invented the 24 hour day?" He replied "Rolex proprietor", and she or he chosen that as ultimate answer.

You mean why did they choose a person for Best Answer who they so thoroughly disagreed with or thought gave a crappy answer, just to leave a nasty comment about it?
Yeah, I've often wondered that myself. I mean, you're giving them 10 points just so that you can tell them off. I think maybe those people who do that don't know how to 'Add Details' to their question, so think the only way they can make a comment about that particular answer (or any of them) is when they choose Best Answer.

I have never got a rude answer after my answer was selected as the best answer. Though I get quite a lot of rude mails :o) .
And if someone is rude to you, you can always report them, and you should.

It's probably out of sheer frustration that the user didn't get an answer he liked, but awarding somebody best answer gets you 3 points, so no matter if he likes the answer or not, he still feels compelled to award someone best answer.

It takes all sorts, its life and maybe u learn something! Maybe a hidden message in the answer i.e. u hit a raw spot right on the nail!

It has happen to me 3 or 4 times..
The only reason why is they want to say something smart to me...
But the ones who says something like that,,are the ones that will not expect Emails or IM from you.....

That has happened to me as well. I figure I at least put something out there that made someone think against their grain.
