Service means that you provide someone with your bahaviour, not a product - you clean their house, serve at the table, counsel them - stuff like that . They do not leave your 'place of business' with a package in hand, but with wisdom, fat tummy, good health or something

in some situations, one can barter for them.


[another definition of returning poor quality goods is exchanging them
so I am not sure which way you are using the word "exchange."
