Heavy periods with lots of clots could be a sign that you have uterine cysts. You should go to your doctor and get checked out.

hmm... do you normally have such kinds of periods? if not, since when you started having them? and do you feel symptoms of anaemia such as lethargy, palpitation, looking pale etc. if you do, then better go to your doctor for a check up. How old are you anyway? there are many factors involved in determining whether is your problem a serious problem. But generally, bleeding should not be too much until it floods your pants or until your anaemic. Clots are nothing much excepts old blood from your uterus, which is normal during periods. However, all the liquid and clot blood should be taken into account in determining how much blood loss. Bottom line is, if you're worried, get checked. Don't hesitate when it comes to your health, ok? hope you'll get better...

You should discuss this with your GYN to rule out possible conditions.
