I keep mine in a bag that isn't translucent (One time I didn't and my mom wasn't NOT thrilled. LOL) It's really not that bad. The worst part is thawing them, esp if they're stuck together. Really though, my snake doesn't even eat once a week. It's not something you'll have to do daily or anything. Also, if you start with a baby snake, it'll be feeding on pinkies first (newborn mice). Then you can gradually work you way up to thawed adult mice (which tend to have a smell once they're thawed). The pinkies aren't bad. Trust me. ^.~
And despite what people may claim, ANY snake can be convinced to feed on thawed prey.
If you want any more tips on snakes and feeding, feel free to email me.

My son and I moved recently and someone had used a very strong smelling cleaner in the refrigerator/freezer and we tried baking soda, airing it out, placed a fan inside and everything besides just good cleaning. One day I came home and my son had taken apart the freezer compartment panels which exposed the fan and completely cleaned them inside and out and then screwed them back into place. After the disassembly and reassembled freezer was cleaned the smell was gone.

Nope...I even vacuum seal mine into smaller packages when I get them and put them in the freezer. If you don't want to look at them next to the frozen waffles (lol), just put them in a bag.
