I personally think that Alonso should be thrown out or, if he has any decency at all, he should retire for the rest of the season. Now, after everybody knows he was cheating to get results, what good are they? That's not a champion in my books.

Alonso is a coward. I have always been a Ferrari fan, and Alonso gained my upmost respect when he dueled against Michael and beat him last year when the pressure was on. But hearing how he whined and tried to sabatoge his own team i now think he is a crybaby who throws temper tantrums when things dont go his way. I agree with steve machette who said if he was alonso i would be worried what the engineers and mechanics do to his car. If Michael was thrown out of the title hunt when he hit Villuenve then why isnt Alonso thrown out for blackmailing and having illegal ferrari documents in his poession

Alonso knew, second hand, about possible stolen Ferrari information.

So we argue lets ban Alonso from ever driving again because he did not immediately report this to the FIA although he did present this information to the FIA later.

Looking at the facts dispassionately we don't know if an offence serious enough to warrant a ban took place. I would have a serious problem throwing any driver out of F1 based on this.

Alonso cannot be thrown out, because the FIA gave immunity to drivers who gave evidence. The same drivers also stated that nothing of Ferrari was used by Maclaren.

However, the existence of e-mails is proof enough that information was coming across to the UK from Italy, whether Ron Dennis and the Maclaren team knew or not.

Interestingly (please note Mr Chandaray) THAT IT WAS RON DENNIS WHO REPORTED THE MATTER TO THE FIA, AND NO-ONE ELSE, after Alonso tried to blackmail the team into giving him preferential treatment.

On that basis, I would throw Alonso out of the team if I were team manager; contract or no contract.

Yes. Because he benefitted from the information. If he had not used the info it would have been a different story. But he did..... and Pedro traded info with him. Makes Hamilton look good eh?

in directly Alonso cheated. yet the FIA pardoned him as he cooperated. And he's in the running for the Driver's championship! Tell me if it's fair.

I really don't like Alonso. My opinion would be biased to that. I do think in fairness, he and those involved, should be punished for his part in all this. I understand needing an 'edge' but this is not the way to obtain it. The entire team should be held accountable for the damage it has created to the reputation of the sport.

Alonso had the information and tried to blackmail Ron with the emails.
Ron should certainly look at how to get rid of Alonso for 2008. Who needs him when he has Hamilton. Besides can Ron now afford Alonso's retainer.

Thrown out of F1, no I do not think so.

Yes. He is definitely involved in the case and there is evidence that he sent emails regarding the data to Pedro de la Rosa. Since it is pretty obvious that he was involved and he knew about the data, he should be kicked out of the world championship. It's called cheating.

Technically, he was given immunity by the FIA for cooperating. So in a way, he was doing something right there, that is to cooperate with FIA's investigation.

But on another side, he blackmail Ron Dennis with those info, so he isn't entirely a saint either. Instead of going straight to the FIA, he used it to blackmail his very own team.

That action there gives him a very bad name. If he do not change his ways of backstabbing his own team, he will put himself out of F1. No one wants to hire a driver that will bring the entire team down.

He is a snivelling little rat that has now reduced himself to blackmail to gain an advantage over his own team mate what a genuine stand up guy throw him out of f1 for good and do the sport a favour.
