Moody's Life After Life is pretty much the definitive work in this field, but if you have it read his dedictation. He says he was inspired to investigate NDEs after he heard a lecture by one Dr Ritchie - his account is incredibly vivid. His experiences are in a book by I think Wilson, called Life After Death (sorry, I don't have the book here so I can't check the exact details.)
The description of 'hell', where smokers can't smoke and alcoholics can't drink is exactly like similar themes in the film Ghost - Im sure the writers got the idea from here.

Have to also reccomend 'The five people you meet in heaven' by Mitch Albom. It's an unusual and easy to read book about the five people this man meets on his journey to heaven and has his whole life explained along the way. Great read.

Not a book, but a documentary/movie: "Raised from the Dead" with Reinhard Bonnkhe.

A good book, also: "Didn't You Read My Book?" by Dr. Richard E. Eby

'The Five People You meet in heaven 'by Mike Albom.

A first rate book: nothing to do with religion but spiritual and thoughtful never-the-less.
