Take a small flat head screw driver and remove the grey rubber embedded in the lip of both frames by prying upward on any portion then pulling the rest out with your fingers. Cut the new screen 4 inch's bigger than both frames. Place over the empty frame and press in the grey rubber with the same screw driver. Make sure you pull the screen tight as you go around the frame. Cut any excess screen away using a box cutter.

Pick up the screening and spine from local hardware store to match measurement of your window. (Add a little extra screening material to overlap all sides). Remove existing screen, spread out new material and, starting in a corner, carefully push the new spline into the crevice around the window. There are tools you can buy to do this or try using a very dull pizza cutter. After this step is complete, carefully cut away the excess screen using a utility knife.

If you aren*t too picky get some nylon netting at Wal Mart 72 inches wide and 57 cents a yard; All colors. We use it all the time at our club house on the river.
Other than that the answer on how to replace them is right except get one of those tools ( I think it is called a spleen) they are under five bucks, works like a charm.
Replacing a screen is a breeze.

Josh B got it right, except for one detail. In hardware stores you can get a small plastic tool with a plastic wheel on each end. This tool is used to embed the gray rubber welt into the screen and frame.
If you use a screw driver, you can damage the rubber or accidentally punch a hole in the screen.
The tool is sometimes included in screen repair kits.

Are you going to use fiberglass screen or metal galvanized screen? You will need a screen roller tool,a razor knife,a tape measure and a set of clamps.I recommend clamping the screen to a plywood board.Remove the old screen spline[the round rubber that hods the screen in the groove].Remove the screen fabric.Lay the new screen flush to one outside edge.Roll it right to left. When you reach the bottom use a screwdriver to force the spline around the corner.Continue rolling the screen and trim the excess.Be sure not to have to much tension in the center-this will warp the frame in.
