In many areas of North America there is a weather radio station, usually in the 108-174 MHz band, which presents weather information constantly. I imagine the other continents have something similar.

In some major cities, such as New York and Toronto, there are all-news stations that give weather reports every ten to fifteen minutes. Some cities, such as Ottawa, Canada, have special information stations that provide weather information every ten minutes or so.

They do that because of the large turnover during the day, some people tune in at certain times and then tune out.
