First it was JonBenet being pimped out to rich Republicans, then the Arubagirl being killed by the Diplomat's son.

Now this McCann girl is being used to draw attention away from the failures of Bush's war.

Meanwhile, thousands of young American soldiers have died and tens of thousands have been maimed in the war that Bush was planning on starting long before 9/11?

Osama has not been seen since he was allowed to escape at Tora Bora and Bush said he doesn't even care where Osama is.

We all now know that Bush lied about WMD's and a connection between Iraq and 9/11 to start his war.

General Betrayus says that not all the troops from the escalation of Bush's war will be coming home any time soo

Our troops are spread so thin that they don't get to come home for a year and a half to see their families.

There will be more troops in Iraq after the so called "Troop Cuts" than there were before Bush escalated his war with the surge over the summer.

All these pretty missing and/or dead white girls sure do serve as a distraction from what's going on, don't they?

I don't see a whole lot of questions about Steve Fosset, the adventurer who went missing. But he's an old white guy who probably crashed his plane in the desert--not as exciting as a girl being kidnapped, is it?

Bush is certainly not causing these distractions, but he probably is happy about them. Hey! You! Ignore that picture of Donald Rumsfeld and Saddam Hussein shaking hands back in 1983.

Ignore that the U.S. trained the Mujahideen (sp) back in the 1980s when the Afghans were trying to kick the Soviets out. And that Bush gave the Talibastards $43 million in May of 2001 to crack down on the poppy growers because poppy equals opium. Ignore that Bush and the Saudis are tighter than ticks.

Oh please - "this McCann girl is being used to draw attention away from the failures of Bush's war" - by whom? Are you suggesting Bush's supporters are placing all the questions about Maddy as a smokescreen?

And why does it bother you that this sad and fascinating case is getting so much attention - the fact that she isn't American and therefore you believe nobody should be interested in her, perhaps?

Come on, you live in a demaaacracy, in theory. If you don't like Bush's policies, vote the Republicans out properly next time - don't leave them another chance to cheat their way into office. Easy.

Haven't you discovered that the media's primary goal is not to elucidate the truth and motivate the populace to take action?

Although they talk about lofty goals, it seems that the leaders in the US media have been concerned about increasing revenues, decreasing costs, and surviving. Even when the government generates erroneous story lines and false reports, the media falls into lock step fearing that their reporting might be targeted as not reputable. Their investigative reporter follow soft stories such as pedophile setups and child abductions, because they are not politically challenging.

I'd like to know the real truth behind the events of 9/11/2001, however, that's not going to happen as long as we continue to listen to FOX, PBS, and other major news organizations in the US.

What you are hearing about Iraq is pure unadulterated propaganda and spin. It is neatly packaged to sound like it is unbiased and fair coverage. It is not. They'd like to believe that "perception is reality." It is not.

Because the War you refer to is the result of removing a brutal dictator and keeping the oil fields free so we can live as we do in the west. This action is at worst naive.

Child abuse in all its forms is evil and not acceptable - hence people feel more strongly about it.

Hear hear! Enough about the McCanns, I don't want to hear it anymore.
It's not just American soldiers either, the soldiers on the other side are people too. Not to mention the hundreds of thousands of civilians being killed and maimed, and for what?
