The proportions of the photo are 5:3 so the proportions of the poster need to be the same. So if it's3.5 feet high that's 42 inches. Divide by 5 and multiply by 3 for your answer

42/5 = 8.4
8.4 x 3 = 25.2

So your answer is 25.2 inches or
2 feet 1.2 inches

Well to answer this question you must first convert 3.5 ft to inches which is 42 inches..The equation is:

5:3 42:x

Just multiply the interior parts then divide the answer by the exterior..

42x3=126
126/5=25.2

Then convert 25. 2 inches to foot, which is 25.2 divided by 12...is equal to 2.1 ft.

The width of the poster would be 2.1 ft..

Hope this helps..

Set up a proportion.
Make 5 inches = 5/12 ft.
so 5/12 : 3.5 = 3/12: x
If set up as fractions, cross multiply.
So, 5/12 x = 3.5(3/12)
(5/12)x = 10.5/12
x = 10.5/12 times 12/5
x = 10.5/5
x = 2.1 ft
