Yahoo has some problems when it comes to attaching files or opening HTML. Also I find that yahoo email is down more often than other web based email. The biggest problem with yahoo though is that if you type out a long in depth email, and press send, it sometimes leads you to a "relogin" page and you lose your email.
My suggestion is to get a mac email address if you have a mac or a comcast email address if you have a PC - both can be checked online all over the world, but if you need to get into an old email or find a file that you sent, you can get to it when you have no internet connection on your own computer.

Yahoo is the best by far. I've used it for years and it blocks SPAM better than the others.
I also use Gmail (tolerable SPAM filters) for eBusiness subscriptions and Hotmail for anything suspicious. I let Hotmail deal with their lousy SPAM filters.
NOTE: All Web mail servers will "time-out" if you take too long to "Compose" an Email. Use WordPad instead, then Copy & Paste your message.

The big three are Yahoo, Hotmail and Gmail.
They have all got their pluses and minuses.
I prefer the new interface that Yahoo have and it generally seems to work.
Gmail has a quirky interface that if you get used to is OK but if you are used to outlook use Yahoo or Hotmail.
Hotmail has the advantage that it is linked to outlook.
