When you make your network private, as they create other accounts they will add you as one of their fans. When they do this, then they have access to all of your Q&As. So they then reek havouc with your account. Here is a little free advice, keep a close eye on your fans. When you see someone on a level one or sometimes two, take a look at the profile. If they are a troll or someone that you are not sure about, block them. Remember you cannot remove a fan, only a contact.

I just took a look at my fans list, and I had three trolls on there. They are like little viruses. Top contributors and people that are are the top tens are always the ones that they like to go after, for whatever reason. Especially the ones of us that are on the top tens in other Cultures and Groups. R&S or any Society and Culture.

This is one reason why I wish Yahoo would add a feature which would allow us to approve users as fans/contacts before them being added. Currently, we have only two choices- accept ANYONE (and weed through our fans/contacts to delete those we don't want) or deny EVERYONE. I think this stinks.

My opinion is that they assume that the users who are high level and/or top contributors strongly value their Y!A status; and, therefore, they seek to destroy it.

I had my account suspended- someone put violations on ALL of my 11 questions- one after the other- they were only song titles. i stopped asking questions, but then thought "What the hell", however l lost most of my contacts- and lam scared to follow my contacts in case they think l am a troll- so its really took the fun out for me- lam no longer a "Have to be on" fan l am -, Disheartened,xx

Makes one wonder why people don't just use the system as it is intended to be used - no abuse of it, just honest questions and honest opinions. - maybe a little humor here and there. I have received two violations completely over nothing in the last two days and now I'm beginning to wonder why. Especially since I'm only at level five. Thanks for the information.

thank goodness....I always wanted to know why I should or shouldnt accept fans.... I am on level 2, however I am new to the gist of how Y/A's works (and just answer or ask the questions) I have not accepted fans or contacts (I have a few waiting) so that is a good tip to know and will keep my details private..... thanks

Anyway - be aware - Yahoo! limits the number of contacts AND the number of blocks you can have to only 200. Once full - that's all she wrote.

actualy I figured out you can remove a fan!!! you can just block them and they automatically come off your fans list!
