No, America's discoverers fled from Europe because they feared the Muslim Ottoman Turks. The Ottomans have overrun Eastern and Central Europe. They were besieging Vienna and were about to take Rome. The Ottoman Sultans were keen to capture Rome, saw the Pope in two halves (vertically) and to feed oats to their horses on the altar of St. Peter's church (the Vatican).
Seeing this, countless expeditions began to flee Europe and seek shelter very far away; like the Americas and Australia.
Had the Muslims been vigorous enough to continue their conquests, all of Europe would've been Muslim by the end of the 17th century. It is believed that the Americas and Australia would've accepted Islam in the 18th century.

Ever travel much? Just wondering. I know whay you are trying to say, but your question makes little sense, logicaly or historically. Actually the earliest English, after Jamestown and later settlements were dissattisified with social and political conditions after the English Civil War... I am not sure that the Anglican Church was all that tolerant in the early 17 C. As for the founders..weren't they born here ?
And a good number came for economic opportunity.

Precisely because England wasn't Christian enough for them. When the pilgrims came over here, England hadn't experienced the joy of Oliver Cromwell yet and felt the Anglican church was completely devoid of Christianity. I really think that's why our country is so uptight. Look who got the party started. Note to frenzy: England wasn't a Catholic nation at this point. They had been protestant since 1585 or there abouts.

No, the founders of America fled/got thrown out of England because THEY were the extremists and wanted puritanism as the main religion. Hence the nutbag right wing fundies that are all over the US to this very day.
Sadly we got lumbered with puritanical rule 30 years later and where did that get us? Invading another country that led to all sorts of problems for the next 350 years.
Hmmmmm....

Ask a question and quit ranting dribble. You are violating Yahoo guidelines.
Backward people! Most of the industrialized world are not backward, and several OWN us, thanks to people like you!
I think you are getting a little emotional as you haven't made a correct sentence, much less an argument!
Most people fled England because they were religiously persecuted. Even you should know that as most 4th graders do!
