I recently lost my dog and have sprayed the house with insecticides and after 10 days still finding fleas how long does it take to eradicate all fleas now i have no pets.
How long can they live for with no host?

We used to have them in the carpet cause we had 2 dog.
We found that a flea bomb generally does the trick...

I think I read or heard somewhere that a flea can live 10 days to 2 weeks with no host. They said you should close up the house/room you want to eliminate fleas and not go in FOR ANY REASON before that time. If you can't do this, try an industrial vacuum cleaner, vacuum the carpets, floors and furniture. After using, discard the bag outside of the house immediately.
I had a real bad flea problem years ago. It was so bad that after walking across the carpet, my lower legs looked like they were sprinkled with pepper! But now I take my cats to the vet in July and get them dosed with ADVANTAGE. Now I don't have the flea problem.
If these don't work, you might have to hire a professional exterminator.

It would depend on the type of flea. I say this because I had a house in which the basement had not been completely dug out. So I had trouble with sand fleas coming up through the flooring and biting me. I would imagine like me the fleas may disappear once it gets colder outside.

you sure they are not "bed bugs"?
and they don't live just in your bed
