Maddie was moved to a location such as another apartment or the church (church most likely - nice and cool).
Car was hired a day or two before the Mccans went to Rome (not sure what other explanation for such timing - why did they need to hire a car then?). They went off to Rome to see the Pope (note that they were dressed as for a funeral - Gerry even wearing a black tie). Meanwhile an accomplice moved Maddie to the car (all eyes on the Mccans, nobody would have been likely to be watching the car) and then took her 'somewhere' for disposal - most likely to a yacht for disposal deep in the sea. Watch the videos, watch the body language. Especially watch the video shot three days after she was 'abducted' - at the 'Mothers' church service, the false crying and false broken voices - and the 'she's lovely' throw away phrase. Look also for the video when Gerry is asked if he sedated Maddie - definately not comfortable with that question.

I am not saying this is what I think happened, but I am just offering an idea. I remember seeing a photo of Kate and Gerry pushing a double buggy out in Portugal a few months back, and the entire buggy was covered in a kind of black curtain, now I am not suggesting for a moment that they could have used this to move Madeleine's body, but it could be possibility. I tried to find a link to the photo, but I haven't managed to find one yet.

I agree, but I haven't seen all the videos, so I didn't know about the Pope one. I agree that the Portuguese and British police will have studied these videos. They also had body language experts watching their police interviews and any media coverage, to see if their actions were normal.

What day was it when Kate went hawking the wristbands in a place away from Praia? Was to draw the media's attention so Gerry could get on with what he needed to do?

Not sure what to think is my honest answer.
Could the DNA (which is apparently not 100%) not be that of the twins or from something of Maddys that was moved when they moved from the resort to the rented villa?

I agree with you. I have been watching the videos over and over, and I can see them both forcing themselves to cry. It stands out that they are forcing themselves. I would imagine that the UK police and Portuguese are studying their body language in all of this.
