I liked LOTR. My father grew up in England and read these books plus The Hobbit as a child, so it was, in a way, instilled in me. My mother, an Australian, however, has no interest in the movies whatsoever and can't stand them. I agree fully with a comment made previously. LOTR is a complete experience. A fine script that gives justice to the author, fine actors, mind blowing sets and props and costumes and masks and all the rest that goes along with it. I think that LOTR was one of the first fantasy books that really drew people in and I think the film franchise really gave the book justice.

Lord of the Rings is well good. My dad likes it and is always playing on the Lord of the Rings computer games.
I agree with moxhambi, i think he does spend a lot of time at the skate park.

Everyone is certainly entitled to their own opinions, and we are all very likely to enjoy different films. I personally liked The Lord of the Rings a lot. It's a great fantasy epic, well, made, well acted, with amazing effects, sets and costumes. I enjoyed the story as well and liked they way the filmmakers adapted the books for the films. They cut out a lot of scenes I found to be boring and made a movie that I really enjoyed. But you are certainly welcome to dislike it if you wish.

It's a trilogy, an action-fantasy so it looks boring to you. But I tell you, LOTR is a nice, entertaining movie especially the last two parts. In fact, the 3rd installment, "Return of the King" won the Oscars for Best Picture.

Personally since I live in New Zealand I enjoyed the movies not only because they are a great story but because they showed the beauty of New zealand off to the world and there was a lot of New Zealand actors in it and not to forget it was directed by a New Zealander.

I agree with you,I have seen one of the films just to know what it's about, but in my opinion I just can't get into it the plot kind of bores me and it is pretty long, but I don't want to crtisise other people's opinions on it as we all like different things, and that's just not for me.

Well you know what opinions are like.
I guess you haven't read the book and you spend a lot of time at the skate park.
