It used to just happen at night but it is now happening in the day.
It can get quite scarey as he sometimes cant catch his breath and i need to pat his back quite hard.
He has on occasions gone very red with his eyes watering, and has even gone blue a few times.

He is 8 weks old.
I have told every health proffesional i have seen, even had a stay in the hospital.
He didnt do it in hospital so they didnt wittness it.
As soon as we returned home it started again.
Is it the air in my home? My house sometimes smells damp but we dont actually have mildrew growing anywhere, not even in the bathroom.

Has anyone else experienced this?
What was it?
Its scarey, we are not sleeping, Should we get a humidyfier?
Any ideas??
Please....

ps i have 3 other children and never experienced anything like this:0(

That sounds really scary. I guess they've checked to see if he has a reflux problem - babies are often prescribed baby gaviscon to control it.
You could also insist on seeing an allergy specialist to see if it is an allergy that's causing this reaction. My baby had a slight allergy to whey in milk (both breast milk and cows milk) and was constantly gulping - I was told that I was imagining it, but I knew that I wasn't. We changed to soy formula and it stopped - whenever I have tried to reintroduce cows milk it starts again. She was eventually referred to an allergy specialist at 18 months of age and was diagnosed with the whey allergy.

I agree with trying to find out whether your baby has an allergy, especially to milk. The whole reflux thing makes sense, and can occur from difficulty digesting a certain food or proteins. You might try giving your baby some acidophilous. A baby should not have reflux at such a young age. My son had a lot of trouble digesting his food (yes, I breastfed). The doctor did not even call it colic, as it actually was. When he got older, we had him checked for food allergies, and he was allergic to lots of them. That actually means the body isn't yet good at digesting some of them. Milk was one of the biggies for him. I would see if switching formulas helps. For my daughter, I tried this: one part soy formula and one part mild formula. Only one can have iron in it. This helped my daughter a lot, as she had digestive problems, too. You also could try holding your son up when you feed him, so his back is straight, and his head tips back as he feeds. This helps the formula to go down much more easily and smoothly. These things were the best things I did for my daughter. Do try the acidophilous (with doctor's approval), but don't expect the doc to actually say it will do anything at all. Just try it and see, for yourself. Has your baby been on any antibiotic or other medicine?

This is not uncommon and of course very alarming.Sounds like reflux which the omeprozole would deal with - sometimes takes quite a few days to really work. You have had him checked at the hospital and they will surely have looked for any causes. A humidifier might help - this is very unlikely to stem from damp in your house but could be a allergy from something. It will probably stop when he gets just a little older. All the best fro you and him.

What concerns me is your child turned blue.
I would seek medical advise and I wouldn't stop until they witnessed it.

Anything to do with obstruction of the windpipe is serious, even if it is saliva.

I have 3 little monsters oh.. sorry children and have never had this problem either.

Pester the doctor, nag the health visitor, do whatever it takes for them to get to the bottom of it.

Sometimes you have to be tenacious with these medical types. It's mainly with him being so young that is the worry.

YOU are his MUM and YOU know if there is something wrong with your baby no one else !

If you know that this s not right then PUSH your doctor to do something about it.

Good luck and I hope your little one is OK.

Abyss.

I would take him back to the GP / hospital.
I have 3 kids and they all kind of did this a little, usually it was never bad enough to cause any alarm. It could be like a reflux.
Does he feed ok?
It may be because he is so young, hope he's ok.

What is making the bubbles in his mouth is his drooling saliva. Some people produce more than others.

Ask your doctor about Acid Reflex problems

Burp your baby before he feeds. burp half way though. and burp when done.

Burp ocassionally.
