I'm a very rational down to earth person. I have a masters degree in physics and astronomy is a hobby of mine, so I'm quite well aquainted with the night sky. I just saw what looked like three stars rotating around each other. Based on the way they were moving I thought that they might be lights attached to some sort of triangle shaped balloon, or maybe three high flying birds reflecting street lights, but after watching them for a while I could tell they were just points of light (to my naked eye at least) and not birds. I could also tell that it wasn't balloon like in nature because I could see stars in the background. After watching the three "stars" for a while, they split off in different directions and I lost sight of them among the other actual stars. I've actually seen one other UFO before, but this was unlike anything I have ever seen in all my years of stargazing. It was as if three stars were dancing and then decided to go their separate ways.

I would try and figure out the physics of what you saw based on the laws as you know them. There has to be a way to explain what you saw but you will have to figure it out for yourself or else you will be always wondering what it was. I've seen some strange things happen with lights in the sky and so far I have been able to figure them all out. One was a group of helicopters whose lights were flashing in sequence which made it appear to me like a light was dancing around in a circle as it moved across the sky. My heart skipped a beat when I first saw it but I kept watching and kept trying to figure out what it was until it hit me, then it was obvious. What you saw had to be some type of terrestrial craft or phenomenon but you'll need to convince yourself of that. Approximately where did you see this event?

Yes you have indeed seen a UFO. Unidentified Flying Objects can be anything from visual phenomenon caused by unusual atmospheric conditions to military aircraft, to (possibly but unlikely) actual alien craft. Since you have no idea of what you actually saw, why would you feel the need to report it to anyone? You are contemplating doing the equivelent of reporting a possible speeder on a freeway based upon visual observation. Without some idea of what you were looking at, distance, scale, or appropriate reference points to compare its movement with, you might have even been observing fireflys. As a scientist you should know better. Write it off as a curiosity and if you see it again get out the video camera and protractor and start doccumenting what you see and do some distance calculations so you can estimate size, speed ect. otherwise you might as well be reporting pink elephants for all of the significance your report would be.

After attending an UFO seminar long ago I think UFOs are just a kind of specie like birds for example, because a senior researcher and speaker said who knows they maybe can tap in human mind or enter in the dream; etc. if men think too much or so excite about them. Better to keep a safety distance.

Unless you've got some kind of physical evidence (i.e. videotape, photograph) there's not much you can do to report this. Maybe you could ask around tomorrow and see if anybody else noticed anything strange in the sky.

After all, a UFO is just an unidentified flying object - which is what I would describe what you saw as.

Well, littleLink
what you have just described could have easily been ripped out of the pages of several thousands of sightings that have been reported for years by people just like yourself -- educated, informed and well-adjusted individuals that have been saying quite clearly for decades that what they've witnessed was unlike anything else that they have ever seen before and quite distinctly NOT of explainable nature in normal terms !!!
Yet, as in the preceding posts already beginning to develop around this question, you can see that the common denial of such matters is overwhelming -- with vast numbers of individuals opting to take the view that anyone "witnessing" anything of this type is just simply crazy or
somehow "ignorant" of --- well, damned near everything !!

I, personally know a jet pilot who witnessed a much similar event some time ago --- from altitude -- the event unfolding beneath him by some 10,000 feet and some three to four miles out ahead !! He described this to me as a scene like three glowing "tops" dancing -- and, after some minute or two of this --- they -- as in your viewing -- literally SHOT off in three seperate directions -- he said the actual velocity of these things was like nothing he'd ever witnessed -- literally much faster than missles -- "like rifle shots" -- is how it explained it to me !!

There is something with all of this that is FAR deeper than the naked eye !! So, know what you know -- keep it close to you -- for to open up about it in just any place will definitely bring you ridicule and negative comments about your sanity !! But, simply know that you were lucky to have had this "encounter" -- for you have personal knowledge now that "something" is up !!

Either what you saw was an extraterrestial aircraft(if that was one, i would be the happiest man alive) but it could have been a reverse engineered aircraft by the u.s or russia or some other country. And since you have a masters in physics then maybe you would have more respect to ufologist(hopefully me in the future) and what they do. The facts are out there believe everything from the 1897 aurora crash in texas to russias capusitin yars dogfights in the air with ufos. trsut me someday they will reveal themselves and hopefully guide us into a better mankind.

NASA has no interest in UFO's. The proper branches would be those that investigate such paranormal phenomena in your particular country.

Notable organizations in the USA would be APRO and MUFON.

Sketch what you believe you saw onto paper in order to keep it fresh in your mind. Include time and dates.

Astronomy does not deal in such matters. One may find Paranormal Phenomena under Alternative.

I saw a UFO too once, so what? I don't disagree with the concept or anything, unless they want to anally probe me. Then I suppose I can contact the alien anal probe police.
