Man's senses transcends even the physical ones. In each part of our tripartite being there are senses. Our physical body has five senses throughwhich we contact and respond to the physical world around us. The soul has its senses because it is in our soul that we have our emotions. And deep in our being there is the human spirit withwhich we sense matters related to God who is Spirit. This particular sense and function is called the Intuition.
So to say that our mind is a slave of our senses is correct. Our mind is the middle man of both our spirit and our flesh. Whatever each part is experiencing is expressed through the field of our mind. Our mind is the decider. This verse in romans 8:6 is quite profound when its says that.. "
The mind set on the flesh is death but the mind set on the spirit is life and peace"
Consider this matter Anil. In the Garden, when Eve partook of the fruit of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, it was her MIND that first became polluted by satan , THEN her BODy became fallen to become the " flesh"
She entertained satan's evil thoughts in her mind first and decided to choose the way of satan rather than the way of God.
For us its the same. Each deed, be it good or evil first has its root in our mind. What we entertain.
Your body may want something, but unless you entertain this thought in ur mind first, your body can want whatever it wants.. it will NOT get it if the mind does not decide.
So you decide. Is it a real slave or is it the Slave master.

IT can be. OR our senses can be a slave to our minds. It's all in how we determine what we do with ourselves. This is why most people don't buy it, when others say, well, I felt like it, and the temptation was strong. Because our mind, knowing better, is supposed to tame our primitive instinctual senses. It's like if a kid does something because she felt the urge...but see, mom and dad, who know better, should be there to stop the child from doing a potential wrong.
Our mind can tell our senses to stop, or atleast control them, or our senses can control our mind. Like if u want to steal something. Ur senses are saying go for it,...it's overpriced anyway. But ur mind is saying, it's wrong, and if caught, u'll go to jail. So then either u take it and risk getting caught, or u don't, and u either buy it, or leaVe it.

No. It is the mind that has should be trained properly to resist any temptation, to make right decisions as much as possible but, you can also have a bad mind, not meaning that a person is crazy but, they do the opposite of the above and there is other things that goes along with the mind but, there is not much space to speak about it. I am a woman that believes that if I lose everything that I have physically, I want to keep my mind because without a good mind, you are totally subjected to satan and that is wrong. God bless.

Mind is something un-natural; it never becomes your natural state. Mind is not a slave of our senses it is rather the other ways round our mind becomes the master of our senses and emotions, it controls our senses completely. Unless we make our emotions and senses the master of our mind we shall remain ignorant. Thoughts and emotions keep accumulating in our mind endlessly and most of these thoughts and emotions are rubbish, making our mind a garbage bin that keeps accumulating the useless garbage and later it becomes a self perpetuating garbage collector. Mind becomes a dictator and controls our senses.

The great pyramid is built entirely of limestone not granite the egyptians set a base which was like concrete some believe few of the blocks where molded from a form of concrete as well. The tools they had where not very strong they where copper with a small amount of iron just enough. The ancient egyptians were modern humans like people today don't think they were cave men with clubs.

hi friends,
i do agree that mind is the slave of our slaves..because..u can take the real life examples..for example...u want to watch a cricket match and u need to finish ur home work by tomorrow..and u cant miss the game..
so,at that time this statement comes into picture..
so,in order to achieve success in ur field,,,i guess people need to control their senses so that they can get rid of all the unnecessary pleasures they dont deserve..
another thing is that yoga or meditation is one important that if practised daily would lead you to life full of euphoria and tries to make ur mind and actions benevolent towards people...thanq

No, on the contrary our senses are slave of our mind. That's why the person who has full control of his/her mind, succeed in 100% cases.

Ah ha, nice one. What a clever question....... Our mind is deeeply affected by our senses but the best selling book in the world seems to indiciate that our mind [the higher part, not the animal part] is capable of overcomming the signals from the sensory part and ignoring them if we desire...... This is hard to even put in words because society has no commem frame of reference.
So the simple answer is, part yes and part no. And my studies in psychology tell me exactly the same.

It depends upon its training. Mind is very pliable like a wild horse and has to be tamed. It is flexible also. A strong mind is a sound administrator/controller of life and a weak mind is swayed by situations including senses.

I think it can be without the aid of the Spirit. We know that it is not controller of our minds since we have the ability to choose the direction to take the impulse from our senses. So it is influenced and shaped but not controlled
