Androgen is any type of natural or synthetic compound that controls the growth and maintenance of masculine characteristics by binding to androgen receptors in vertebrate creatures. Testosterone is an example of an androgen.

There is no difference. CAIS is a level of AIS, along with Mild Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome (MAIS) and Partial Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome. There are six levels of AIS. CAIS being levels 5 and 6. Characterized by a generally complete feminine appearance with very little to no reaction to androgens. These people generally are raised as women and identify as such. PAIS is levels 3 and 4. Genitalia is ambiguous and the level of reaction to androgen varies greatly in both levels. These people are most victimized by uninformed doctors and parents with corrective surgeries where gender is normally wrongly chosen. MAIS is levels 1 and 2. These people are generally raised male. They have an outwardly male appearances but have smaller genitalia and very low sperm count.
