YES. If you have not been wearing tampons, then it is time for you to start trying them. Wear a tampon. This will assure that no blood seeps out while swimming. Most all women swim while on their periods and it doesn't hurt a thing. Also, by you asking this question- I am under the impression that you have been only wearing pads. Many mothers tell their daughters to wear pads and NOT wear tampons when they start their periods. This is just old time from mothers in general. They did NOT have tampons during their early years and so, did not ever wear anything but pads and believed that tampons were not good for a girl to use. This is NOT true. Wearing tampons will not hurt you at all. They are easy to insert and will absorb MUCH more than they look like they will !!!! Try some of the smaller ones at first - but keep them changed about every 3-4 hours. Just keep trying different ones until you find the one that feels most comfortable for you. Again, YES, girls go swimming all the time while on their periods. Be sure to change your tampon soon as you get out of the swimming pool as it will absorb a little water also.

Yes but you MUST wear a tampon!
No pads, and no going in without a tampon.
You will NOT stop bleeding or slow down bleeding while in the water, it only looks like it stops.

Swimming while on your period is fine, though you must wear a tampon.
Bathing/showering/swimming does NOT make one's menstrual flow slow down.

Yes you can still swim as long as you use a tampon. Just make sure you change it as soon as you are finished. Good luck and be Blessed.

Most girls do, wearing tampons. Nobody should notice and all should be good.
Howeve at school some girls skip class if they have cramps or aren't comfortable wearing a tampon/don't use them yet. Your parents or teacher should be understanding - you can also say you're sick without telling them the real reason if you want to skip.

hello use a tampon....
there is this old myth. that when you have your period, you can take a bath or go swimming and you will not leak.... i found this to be true. but then when you get out of the water and walk to dry off, the blood may start up.
