Lots of us are kids at heart, or we just haven't found what we consider to be our life's gig yet.

I'm 66, but I don't think I've achieved what I want to achieve yet. I want to be a published novelist. I have a few novels either written or in progress. I also want to reach out and help people to make better lives for themselves.

I'm not a bad person, and I've had successful careers. I'm a dad, a granddad, and have achieved a certain amount of fame and notoriety in my community by being a radio news anchor. I would like wealth mainly so I could share it.

How many of you are in similar situations--young and old--and feel as I do that the best is yet to come?

I always wanted to be a tennis player but my parents didn't allow it, because playing tennis is an 'undue request'. Parents in India are very much responsible for killing the talent of the young kids here, as they see school education as the only thing worthy of pursuing. I am not saying I would have been a great player or something, but I would have been happy with whatever I would become.
:(

Anyway, I am 17 years old now and it is foolish to keep wishing that someday I will play tennis. Computers are my next fashion, so I want to do something big in the computer world. I would like to put a stop to software piracy first of all, by encouraging people to use open source and free software is they can't afford to buy the premium ones. I would also have my own company, which will stride to spread computers to the developing countries in Asia.
Oh yes, I love wild animals too and I want to donate a bit every year towards wildlife conservation.
:)

All the best with your novel work!

I liked this question. I think too that I am haven't still developed my potential completely , and yes, I have already have some successful achievements but I strongly believe that there are lots of good things I still can do. Right now I am trying to get a better mathematician and a better person, these are my aims for now. But perhaps sometime in the future I will wish something different. I don't really know and, as a friend of mine, this is what is the good part of life, that it is always surprising... Although I would like not to be that surprised most of the time...

When I was little I was going to be a movie star. I loved the Little Rascals so much that I dressed and sang like Darla!
Mommy didn't want that for me.

When I reached the second grade I fell for my teacher Mrs Wilson. At that point I wanted to be a teacher... until the sixth grade when I got Mr McAdams. My first man teacher was very strict.

I considered being a professional waterskiier. But that was just not going to last very long. I was an artist throughout all my life. I wanted to be in advertising because that is the only art I could knew of except for architecture (which was on my list). I wanted to be a hair dresser, but after my accident, mom said it would be too hard on my legs.

Dad said secretary. Mom said art. I was confused! I ended out being an artistic secretary LOL. I do lots of art for hobby and fees. But I always worked in an office. I am not a ladder climber. I do not want to be the executive secretary to the general manager. I am happy just doing what I do and looking forward to retirement someday... but I have no idea when!

I've been looking, but I don't know what to do...
I even started taking classes at a career education center to learn some 3D animation and Digital film broadcasting, but deep down it rings hollow.
I've made a couple sketches and drawings that I'm proud of and now I have to get some type of art credit, theatrical or otherwise so im in an art class.
Often times I find myself lacking the ability to explain my vision properly to those around me.
I realize a profession in Photography or in Art would be realy iffy and hard, so I may build my way up to it, but who knows.

I'm only 16 so there's still plenty of time to look before I have to make any serios decisions.

I write a lot, and I would like some of my work to be published....maybe someday....but with all my heart I would like o be a dancer, and play tennis. I already train those 2 for a long time. I would love to raise a happy family too.

But I'm not really sure. I haven't decided yet...I think it's too early. I can send u some of my work though! I like to talk to people who have gained experience over years, and I care about anyone's opinion.

P.S: Oh, and that coffee was absolutely delicious!

I wanted to be a Princess. Since I found out that the job was just not attainable for me, I have really done nothing but flounder my way thru life. Unfortunately, I did not have a Plan B.

So, I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up.

I'm 16, and I wanna be an engineer, although, I'm not just sticking to one career. I've done heaps already through my life, and have never restricted myself to anything, but I guess that opens up heaps of pathways to me, which is what I look forward to.
