I have tried everything I know. Not even I8kfanGUI program will work. Since my fan stopped working I have experienced up to twelve second lags on Videos and games (Mainly Runescape). This has been going on for a year now and i am fed up. Occasionally and i mean on an extremely rare occasion the lag will stop, so long as I do not close my laptop or turn it off. But most of the time the lag stays. Even as I am writing this the text is appearing about 5 seconds later than I type it. I do not know what to do. Someone please help me. Before I had IE 7, Sometimes my laptop would overheat and shut off. If i put a fan under it the second after this happened and turned it on then the lag was gone and I could play my videos and games with no lag. But recently that hasn't happened. Could someone PLEASE help me.

Your processor is overheating and throttling down so it won't fry. Have it serviced or repaired. It might just need thorough cleaning of the cpu cooler.

well im guessing that you are using windows xp professional. so try pushing ctrl+alt+delete and that will either automatically pop up your task manager or will go into a list where you will have to choose task manager. Once task manager pops up you should click on the tab processes. Once in the processes tab you should find explorer.exe and then right click. After you right click you need to go down to choose priority and then change it from normal to high or even realtime if you'd like. After you changed explorer.exe to high or realtime do the same with the process IExplorer.exe if you are using internet explorer or firefox.exe if you are using firefox. Then also go through the rest of your processes and end the ones that you can garentee that you are not using because that usually slows up your computer pretty sevearly. hope this helped you

I'd suggest getting a loan and buying a new one.

Failing that, make sure that your computer is free of spyware, viruses, temp files. Use google to download these programs:

ccleaner
avg free

good luck!

buy a new one!
hot is inside, theres no use if you use fan from outside.
you must repair it, it could get burnt if you leave it like that.
