I gained 62 lbs. with my pregnancy (I was in a car accident at 29 weeks and hospitalized and put on bed rest because of a leaking water bag) so I couldn't exercise and gained that excess weight.
So far, I have lost 34 of those lbs., which means I still have 28 lbs. to go!
My concern is; I lost those 34 lbs the first week and a half after delivery!! ever since then I've been at a stand still. Why???
I'm exercising and eating right .. AND breastfeeding! and I drink nothing but water! No juice, no soda, nothing but water! and I drink PLENTY of water..
My question is;
For all of you who lost your baby weight in 6 months .. was there ever a point of "stand still" where you didn't lose for a while?
What am I doing wrong????
I'm literally watching EVERYTHING I eat and exercising EVERYDAY and the breastfeeding isn't helping with the weight loss whatsoever.
Is there a chance I will lose more when I'm done breastfeeding?
**90% of the excess weight is in my tummy .. and 10% in my butt.

*I don't eat sweets, and I'm watching my carb intake.
Only eating lean meats and vegetables.

*I do have hypo-thyroid and take synthroid .. but my doctor says I'm on the right dose of synthroid.
Why am I having so much trouble losing weight?

The problem is probably your thyroid. I gained 55 pounds with my first one and lost 60 afterwards. That was in six months and I did not watch what I ate. However, after the first six weeks I lost less than a pound per week.
In the last few years I have had trouble with my weight. Now I am hypothyroid and for several years I was on synthyroid. I have recently switched to Armour thyroid. It's too soon to see if it will help. You may find this website interesting: www.stopthethyroidmadness.com

You only had your baby 2 months ago!! Your body has a LONG way to go to recover! You put it on in 9 months, you shouldn't even expect to lose it in less than that.

I lost the rest of my pregnancy weight after I stopped breastfeeding. That shouldn't mean you give up bfing to lose weight right now though. ;) Nursing is much more important than your size right now. You will never get this time back again. Enjoy it and don't stress over it!

Don't get frustrated...metabolism has a lot to do with it. The older we get the slower it gets. If you are exercising and eating right then you are doing good. Maybe you need to change up your exercise routine a little more. As for me, yes I had a point of "stand still" for a while. I did change up my routine a little and it helped. I ate many meals a day, small meals. meals that were good for me ofcourse. Veggies, nuts, things like that. For me, (my doctor said) it helps your metabolism work more if there is something for it to burn more often. Remember for 9 months (and with your accident) your metabolism was not working as hard. So it has to get back in its routine too. Be patient and dont give up! GOOD LUCK!
