My cousin became interested in laptop, wants to learn how to type, and also wants to watch some educational CDs on a laptop.

As long as it has a CD-R drive and works fine, It's fine. It doesn't have to have an Operating System because I have the one for him, but if it has, It's good too.

It doesn't have to have an ethernet port for Internet also.

My cousin is about 6 years old, living in Tokyo for his parents' business reason, and will be living there for couple of years according to his parents.

He is American, but gradually learning Japanese also.

If you have the one, know anyone who has the one, or know any place where he can get a free laptop in Tokyo, Please let me know.

I am living in the U.S., never visited Tokyo before, and don't know any place where he can get a free laptop in Tokyo, so I am asking your help.

In the U.S., I have never heard of any place where I can get a free laptop, so I am hoping that someone has some laptops that would be thrown away or planned for sale.

Thank you everyone!

Thank you RIKA!

Would you send me an email to give you more detail for sending the laptop, and also your email address?

You don't have an email option, so I can't send you an email to give you more details, such as address for the sending...etc.

He wants to learn how to type, and watch some educational CDs on a laptop.

Laptop is portable, so he can carry it to somewhere when he visits his friends or other places.

Thank you RIKA! I am waiting for your email!

Sj,
Do you mean the church in the U.S. or the church in Tokyo?

I would search for it instead of his parents if it's the one in the U.S., but they would search for it if it's the one in Tokyo because I live in the U.S., and they lives in Tokyo.

Thank you!

They knows that it takes sometime to learn how to use a Microsoft Office, such as Word, Excel, and especially Access, so they said it's good for him to learn these computer stuff earlier.

If you get successful with this, please don't let the kid get too immersed on a laptop. He might have carpal tunnel syndrome before he gets to be a teener. A desktop has better ergonomics. Or you could set up the laptop like a desktop, separate keyboard on a tray.

Have his family try a church. They sometimes get donations.
Are you sure the parents even want their 6 year old kid having a laptop?
