Practising the principles and not preaching to others. Donating the need from his/her earning. In A.P. NTR was great for some people. Chatrapathi Shivaji was greatest for all. Humble living too may consider as greatness that's what I perceive. Ultimate secret is parents, brought up and spirituality. One has to live upto his reputation/principles till the end of life.

Twirl around 3 times. Then hop up and down like a bunny rabbit. Do the Hokey Pokey twice. Finally stand on your head while singing the Canadian National Anthem. Greatness should magically appear in front of you!

The question should be,"Are any people, whom I recognise as great, willing to tell me their secret?"
Many would be and many have in their books. Most of the answers to a question like this will be gut gas from dreamers of greatness with no experience to back it up.

Greatness is that attribute of life when individual human beings keep the benefit of mankind about self. Great are those gentlemen in different walks of life who live life for the benefit of mankind. Madame Curie... the famous physicist who discovered radium was one of them. The benefits of radium are availed by millions world over.
Her discovery led to her body getting decayed by the radioactivity present in radium but that did not perturb her! She continued her discovery under all hazards and difficulties! Madame Curie was indeed a noble person... as noble as her goal of life! The important discovery of radium Madame Curie made... she never put a royalty on it for the sake of humanity.
She was totally in contrast to the architect of Microsoft Corporation... the revered Bill Gates! For his security Bill Gates employees hundreds of people! What he fears is unknown... the benefactors of mankind never need fear anything! They are always devoted for a cause... even if death faces them in the eye!
The attributes of life that existed in Madame Curie were phenomenal. Her greatness lay in the fact that she was an absolute practitioner of truthfulness, sincerity, honesty, patience, persistence and perseverance! All these attributes were present in her almost hundred percent. None on Mother Earth could sway her from changing her decisions.
When the she wanted to discover radium in pitchblende ore... she did not know how long the journey would be. Traveling the uncharted path of her willingness to accomplish her goal... she went ahead with the bulldog determination of Winston Churchill. Having a clear goal in life and pursuing it with all eggs in one basket is what Madame Curie was all about!
The greatness of a person lay in the fact that it is not what we have done for the community... but the fact that such a person always denies having done it. Vow... such should be the motto of life... the principles in life! Putting a royalty on discovery is simple... but what of those who would not be able to afford the costly procedure!
Greatness of a person lay in the humility one practices in life! The greatness never comes from how big a mansion you own or how many bodyguards surround you while moving! Albert Einstein the famous physicist was another great gentleman who only worked for the benefit of mankind. His discovery of theory of relativity made a great impact in the field of science. Yes! To be great, first you have to turn yourself toward your own happiness. You have to seek and explore, not only your surroundings and what makes others tick, but really be willing to dig down into yourself and find your inner guidance and LISTEN to it. To be great, you have to shed fear, and strive only towards those things that bring you peace. In this way you expand yourself and draw others to you.
