Eggs are formed by oogenesis. In oogenesis of some animals, the primary oocyte halts briefly at diplotene stage and vitellogenesis commences. After the accumulation of yolk, mitochondria and ribosomes, further cell division starts. The cytoplasmic division is unequal resulting in formation of first polar body and a secondary oocyte. The latter divides equationally to give rise to two unequal cells, one is called ootid and another, secondary oocyte. The latter becomes ovum. In oogenesis there is a tremendous growth of the resultant cell.
Sperm is formed by spermatogenesis and spermiogenesis.
The former is meiosis resulting in the formation of four spermatids. These spermatids undergo metamorphosis in which head, neck, middle piece, and tail are formed and the cytoplasm is peeled off resulting in the formation of sleek sperm which is motile.

Chromosome plays an important part for conception of a male baby or female baby.A normal sperm count is 20 million or more sperm per milliliter of semen. To be a father-at least 60% of those sperm should have normal shape and size and show normal forward movement. The sperm cells mix with the eggs in the ovum and form a Zygote. It is a long process,so it is not possible to explain here. To be a father of a male child is solely depends on Husband. Males have xy chromosomes but females have only x chomosomes. If males x combines with x of female--it makes a boy. If males y meet with female x chomosomes--it produces a girl. So mother sould not be blamed for producing female baby. No more to day. preach the fact. Thanks.
