They say that of all the gold that has already been found in Alaska is just a tiny fraction of all the gold that is still here. Gold is everywhere so just keep looking down.

Depends on if you have a claim or if you just want to pan? I live here in Alaska and most of the areas with gold are on corporate owned property. You can pan pretty much everywhere there is water as in a stream or creek. Good Luck

The state has areas set aside in some of the publicly owned land set aside for gold seekers.
I have found small amounts in these areas and it alto of fun.
For the most part gold can be found in most areas of the state and are not easy to get to with out getting out in to the wilderness.
There are alot of claims here in the state and one has to be careful not to work these areas.

You can probably pan some dust out of the rivers.

But I think "jewerly store" is the right answer.
