I am going to be having my first baby any day now - a baby boy ... I am planning on naming him DANIAL ... but I am wondering, does it sound too feminine, being spelled with an -al instead of the usual -el? Also, I want his middle name to be Tristan - is it good for a boy? Thanks for any feedback! :)

I am sorry but the first thing I though of when I saw the name Danial was denial....
I much prefer the original spelling - Daniel...
Also I think Tristan is a nice name for the second name.

Danial first made me think of "denial". . . . or it could also be mistaken for Danielle with that spelling. I do like the middle name Tristan. I would say go with the traditional spelling of Daniel though, spelled as Danial does make it sound feminine.

I think Danial sound more feminine (Danielle) than Daniel and Tristan is a nice name, unless you don't mind about the meaning of Tristan is "Noisy One". Trevor has a very good meaning instead, it means "Prudent, Discreet, Wise"

Daniel is far from sounding femine. It is definatly a boys name. You can call him Danny or Dan. or Daniel

Please don't spell it Danial. That is how my X husband's mother spelled his name to be different. People would mispronounce it like Danieall ewwwww

Plus when we did any legal papers, often who ever typed the papers would correct what they thought was a misprint.

Keep it to Daniel-- Danial is girlish. Sty with Daniel please

I like the traditional spelling of Daniel myself. With the -ial some people might try and pronounce it da-nile rather then Daniel. It would also cut down on confusion when your child gets to school, on how to pronounce and how to spell.

And yes, Tristan is defiantely good for a boy!

It looks like Daniel changed to a girls name as Danial. And it could easily be read as denial.

Being that my name is Danielle I love the name Daniel. I would stick to spelling it with the...el....al may be pronounced the wrong way. Other than that Daniel Tristan sounds great. Congradulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why do you want to spell it that way? It just makes it confusing. That spelling makes me want to say "duh-NI-al" instead of "DAN-yuhl."

Daniel Tristan would be nice.
