Do Bananas Help With Cramps

Bananas are high in potassium, which can help with muscle cramps. But they are unlikely to have an immediate effect -- that is, eating a banana when your cramps start is unlikely to really make the pain go away on the spot. It's better to just eat bananas and other potassium-rich foods regularly to keep a healthy level in your system, and then possibly to eat them a bit more often right before your period is about to start.

Bananas are a good source of potassium which helps with general muscle health like in exercising. Since period cramps are nothing more than a muscle cramp it would seem as though they would. I looked online but couldn't find any articles proving or disproving this. This may be a case by case basis thing. No harm in increasing banana intake during that time.

If nothing else...eat the hell out of some chocolate!!!

Potassium is in every cell of the body and it would make sense to me as bananas are high in potassium and would help to ease muscle cramping.

But if you have diabetes they are also high in sugar.

Grape fruits help with period cramps, because period cramps are a calcium deficiency and are not a potassium deficiency like sports cramps.

Grape fruits have more calcium absorption than milk.

Dairy leaches magnesium out of the bones and causes calcium deficiencies.

I want to blow up the dairy industry for lying to us all.
