This is a line from Inner Universe, the opening theme of the animation 'Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex' sung in English and Russian by Origa.
It makes me feel that I have become some kind of Artificial Intelligence . . . and I feel very lonely, because I see everybody around me dying while I, being immortal, can only watch them disappear from the world. And then I wonder what life really means to me.

Anytime I'm having a bad day, this song always reminds me to praise God and look for the bright side. This song is really written about hurricane Katrina which wiped out New Orleans and I think it is extremely well written.

Here's one you've never heard of.
A Hawaiian singer named Amy Hanailali'i sings a bonus track on her album Generation Hawaii. The song is called Jewel and it is a tribute to the Hawaiian people.
"You are a jewel upon the sand, strengthened by the fire, polished by the wind and sea. Just remember where you came from. Remember who you are...Beautiful to me. Beautiful to me."
I am always touched by her ethnic pride whenever I hear this song. Also, it makes me want to get my toes back in the sand.
