The obvious ones (Zeppelin and The Beatles, etc.) left a lot of music for us to enjoy. The band I wish had never disbanded was the original Rainbow (with Ritchie Blackmore, Ronnie James Dio, and Cozy Powell). 'Course Cozy's passed on but they only recorded three (awesome!) records together, not nearly enough. After Dio left, Rainbow became too "pop" for my tastes and nobody can replace Ronnie James Dio (my favorite singer).

Cream. I like their work better than Eric Clapton's solo work. I think they could've contributed a lot more to music. After all, Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker are great musicians, along with, of course, Eric Clapton.

Maybe Led Zeppelin and the Beatles too. But they released enough albums for a guy to be satisfied. Maybe if they could've released two or three more albums, they would've been good as well.

Creedence. They were awesome. And Zeppelin, the original Van Halen, The Beatles, Cream, The Yardbirds, you know, the classics.

led zeppelin doesnt really count since they decided to quit the band after john bonham's death. other than that, a band like the beatles ran its course. true disappointments are bands who never fully realized their potential and released a few albums or less. good call with Cream.
