S
yes.

well when you ask a question like I say why wouldn't they exist?

now there was a big lizard that lived a long time ago(almost like a kenodo dragon but bigger.) but after the dinosaurs that was said to be in Australia. this lizard killed allot of early people but in a movie on animal "LOST into the past' or something like that it said that "we" used fire to kill them and set fire to the bush. now other tribes might have had lizards ruining or maby have killed people wile trying to escape the fire and some who saw that linked the fire with the animal.

IF THEY EXISTED

Now why might they not exist? they would have lived a long time ago and were killed by the KT event. but the water dragon would have lived.

now they could have moved on land as said in the site and humans would haved not liked that much. there would have been fight and nobody lived to tell the story so dragons went into myth and legend. sad. but the water dragon could be living at the bottom of the ocean and we have just not found them, there fossils could been lost to Earth's platal movements, or we just have not found them. saddly the fossle found on that show was not real but there were fossils like that that were so that is one of the factors pointing to dragons. and like said the stories were mixed up but dragons still could have lived maby like the priestoric dragon only four limbs.

keep this all in mind and if you want to talk about e-mail me.

so having said all that yes I believe dragons once lived, but they would not still be alive today.

one more thing...komodo dragons are monitor lizerds now they may resimble dragons and that could be one of the stories that evalved into dragons but konodo dragons are MONITOR LIZERDS

One populer thery is that they were dinisours, well thats good but think could dinisours be dragons and one more thing maby a dragon like the chines one exsisted and stories about it flying came around so other put wings on them. or maby a dragon lived in between dinisours and birds? the hard thing about dragons is that theres so much that leads to them exsisting and not exsisting. the silk road was a rout that stories along with goods were pased and may have been misplaced.

sorry spell check is not working for me wtf

All cultures seem to have a dragon or two. I can see how people could think creatures they have just seen for the first time could be dragons. Some of the dinosaures; and also alligators and crocodiles.

Dragons are usually describes as having scaly, rough skin, protruding eyes, long snouts. Low to the ground. Sounds like a gator or croc.

If they did once exist and are no longer in our realm we are a poorer world for it.

I think they or something very like them did indeed exist. Most mythology is firmly rooted in fact, and I have a hard time believing that people all over the world, independently of each others cultures, just happened to all think about dragons, and all thought the dragons looked very much the same; all at very near the same time in their history. All cultures have firebreathing dragons that fly in the air. Where do you suppose all those far flung people got that same idea? It won't be the first time science and reason has invalidated something because it seemed impossible, but being wrong so many times before hasn't done much to open mens' minds.

Yes, I think they may have very well existed because every culture and religion has some relation with a dragon. So, I am quite sure that they could have existed at 1 time.

I have read there were reports of very large lizzards and snakes in the medieval times. And these sightings turned into stories and obviously were dramatically retold. And properly led to the myth of dragons.

I don't think they existed as we think of them. But there probably was something very similar to a "dragon" somewhere down the evolutionary chain.

I personally would like to think they existed. Because they are cool :D

you could probably google or use wikipedia for more info.

I think.... That the concept of Dragon existed. What I mean is that most cultures have had some form of it. If you had never seen a flying dinosaur and one showed up it would be a dragon. Or a T-Rex, stegosaurus, Or that one with the long neck. Yeah I would say dragon.(without the fire). Even the bible refers to dragons.

Of course. It's perfectly reasonable. From records, they were creatures that "breathed fire" in almost every culture, even in the Bible this type of creature is mentioned. This doesn't necesarily mean that they literally had flames out of their mouth. A modern day sample is the bombadier beetle. It has two different pouches in its body, with different chemicals that, when combined, create a super hot vapor that they use for defense. So, it's not that unbelievable that a lizard like creature had these pouches in the front of its body, it would, therefore, look like it was breathing fire.

In some cultures I do believe that the people believe the dinosaurs very well could have been dragons. It is feasible to think that these stories and legends could very well be the dinos. They were large, some could even fly. This logic of thinking can also make the dinos seem more important to us.

There is archeological evidence that something like a dragon definitely existed, and past the age of the dinosaurs. I would like to believe that they could still exist on another astral plane.....

I believe they come from our subconscious. There is a reason why dragons look the way they do. In our primitive stages, our three biggest enemies were the snakes, large cats and birds of prey. We were born fearing them and thus our ancestors combined them in to the image of the dragon as have time and time again seen it. So in a way, dragons helped humans survive into civilization.
