other family means am not married to the father. he is married to somebody else.

Why not? Lots of families share the kids 50-50 and lots of parents fight for more visitation or full custody- why don't you???

You ought to be telling him how much you love him look forward to being with him and how you think of him all the time, not "we are the other family"

what kind of parent are you that you would ever decide to exclude your son from any family you have created! if this new family you have "joined" , has problem with him being an "outsider" then you need to find a different family to belong to. And my having to tell you that...makes me feel so bad for your son.

u should have told him this from the first day he asked u. i was in that situation w/ my dad. i always knew we were the other family. my mom never withheld that from us. this is something that the father is gonna have 2 do w/ u. this is his problem as much as it is urs. u should b honest w/ ur son and not keep that from him. he could b mad @ u 4 doing so.
