FAKE ID Vs. NOVELTY ID?

IS it illegal to order a novelty id from a site, not a completly ridiculous one but one with a state template? what is the legality of this.

There's ordering the ID, that's one issue.

There's possessing the ID, that's another issue.

And there are the laws of the state in which you reside, which no one can arbitrarily guess.

A "Federal Bureau of Identification" novelty ID at a Federal checkpoint is not considered to be amusing.

I would suggest that if it's for cute's sake, frame it, don't carry it. If it's for theatrical use, don't have it in your pocket, have it stored with associated costume accessories. Clarifying a misunderstanding of intent can be bothersome, check local regulations for penalties for intentional misrepresentation.

Think about what you want to do, and ask yourself if it's worth it... you want to get into clubs, but not to drink. Why? Why not just wait till you're adult age, not just to impress you and your friends with getting away with what you know is wrong? Don't think for a moment that the club won't catch on, either. They'd probably call the cops as soon as you showed the fake ID. THEN you'd end up in jail for giving false info to a cop. THEN you would have a record, etc. If you want scholarship money, etc., ditch the idea of clubbing. A friend of my nephew's got a hold of a fake ID, and was caught in an auto crash HE caused by driving drunk. He was 16, and tried as an adult. You need to decide at this point whether you'd rather be cool and a loser down the road, or not so cool, and have an education, and intelligent life. Being "cool" isn't worth it.

You should avoid buying a novelty i.d. with a state template. Law enforcement does not have a sense of humor.
