By sheer weight of numbers there is most likely intelligent life in the universe and in our galaxy. Life tends to compete with other life for resources, so yes, there could be wars. It would also seem that most life would be in greater or lesser states of development, some being far more advanced than others. Wars would likely be mismatched between differing species, so not really long in duration or truly wars. The most likely wars would be between different groups of the same species, like they are on Earth.

Sure, but why is this scary? Our galaxy alone contains at least 200 Billion (with a B) stars, and there are a few Billion galaxies. And the closest star to our solar system is 4 light years away (traveling at the speed of light it would take you 4 years to get there.) Its hard to grasp how vast space really is. But...millions of civilizations could exist throughout the universe, each thinking its alone. And...two of them could know about each other and be fighting. There could be millions of such fights happening. We have no way of knowing, and they have no way of knowing we're out here. And those lifeforms will go away after some time, perhaps thousands of years, and someday humanity will go away...and odds are very good that we won't ever be aware of these hypothetical sentient, intelligent beings from other planets, and vice versa.

The universe is infinite! aliens fighting in space 240 or 340 million light years away, are hardly going to affect us here on earth! But when you realise that there are more stars (Suns) in the universe than grains of sand on our earth! Then the chances of other civilisations existing is almost a certainty! Have a great day.

Yes, but I don't think it's scary. I'm far too worried about the wars raging on this planet to worry about what aliens may be doing in space. Unless they like burnt overheated places, they won't bother with us.

as the centuries have ticked away. the discoveries and experiences that our planet has to offer have shrunk so such an extent that it is now known as the global villiage. In short. The planet can no longer provide the horizons and inspirations that are needed for people to get the most out of life. One reaction to human frustration is the turning to extreme and fundamentalist religious beliefs which are unforgiving in their attitude to any alternative form of faith. Rigid in their doctrine that only believers can be saved from eternal damnation. many such cults do foresee the final destruction of the world coming in our new millennium today. Even gentler and more tolerant species, are now on the rise to meet with us to bond with us, to help us, to pick us up in their mother ship, and take us to walk with them among the stars. But if this gentler and more benevolent species were to contact us and give us the abilitiy to go into space in an interstellar way dont you think we would be more likely to be the ones to start the war?! As in- tolerant as we are of our own species, and cultures how would we react to a totally new culture? would we really put up with them? ! or treat them as the english treated the Indians, or the spanish treated the Inkas, I dont believe that a war across space would be cost effective. See how expensive a war only 3000 miles away is. Multiply that by the distance in space between planets. I believe only a species like ours would be likely to be willing to go to the expense a more intelligent species, or culture would have more tolerance. However did you know that the New Age movement first began to make itself felt in the mid late nineteen-sixties. It combines elements from a wide range of disparate sources and beliefs including: Hindusism, Buddhism, mysticism, witchraft, and science fiction, its very different adherents share a conviction that the aware people of the world will experience a shift in consciousness as the world enters this New Age, and abandons materialism and embraces a new found spirituality.
Paco Rabanne, fashion designer and now New Age Guru, foresees angelic salvation for humanity. A race of extraterrestrial beings called the Elohim ( Hebrew for "Gods")
were responsible for the creation of the first civilization on Earth-Atlantis and came to our rescue when Atlantis was destroyed, notably by saving Noah and his family. The Elohim have continued to keep a watchful eye on our development and may intercede to save humanity again. This latter-day rescue will result in an evolutionary step into the Fourth Vibratory Plane and will be disinguished by a new spiritual understanding, Homo Sapiens becoming Homo Spiritualis. This move to the higher plane will fulfil the Biblical prophercies of the creation of a new heaven on earth. Very few generations have had the opportunity to stand at the point of a metaphysical zero and contemplate a new age beginning. So, Must we then bury our heads in the sands of superstition and religious bigotry? Or do we face the future head on and take the next steps into the universe to walk among the stars side by side with other alien species? Or do we try to ride and hide from them? Impossible! they will come one way or another to take us with them , if only to find out our potential as a species and ally if they are at war to alert the dangerous alien species that we are there among the greater good aliens to fight side by side with them in harmony to rid once and for all the destruction that they have caused.!?

There could also be a war raging in your shoe between different microbial species. Now that's a scary thought.
