two barrels of wine were analyzed for their alcohol content in order to determine whether they were from different sources. one the basis of 6 analyses, the average content of the 1st barrelwas established to be 12.61% ethanol. 4 analysis of the 2nd barell gave a mean of 12.53% alcohol. Together the ten analysis yeilded a pooled value of s+0.070%. Do the data indicate a difference between the wines at the 95% confidence level?

No. The t statistic is abs(12.61-12.53)/0.07 which is about 1.14. This is less than t(0.95,4).
