Yes, because digestion occurs due to peristalsis or peristaltic movement of the muscles of esophagus that drives the bolus(chewed food) toward the stomach. so no matter how you position yourself, digestion will occur. its a little harder for drinking though but its still possible but quite uncomfortable.
