I assume your are talking about a supercharger or turbo. If not the intake works by vacuum caused when the pistons drop in the cylinder causing change in pressure

When the pistons go down they suck in air and gas (unless it is fuel injected, and then it is squirted in). Typically, it comes through the air filter which is designed to keep dust and dirt out of the engine block.
A turbo uses a fan (blower) to increase air flow resulting in higher horsepower from the same engine block.
If you mean into the cabin of the car, you heater/cooling system has a fan to bring outside air into the car.

the induction system or a turbo or a suppercharger in your case an air filter. a new air filter will improve gas miledge n take off speed n help keep oil n intake engine clean. get a new tune up this includes new air filter, gas filter.plugs.cap,rotor. oil change. this will make power feel better than new

It's called a difference of pressure. More pressure (atmospheric) on one side of the throttle plate than there is on the other side of the throttle plate (vacuum).
