Cooking oil or olive oil works like a charm. A bit of soaking in it, a q-tip to work it under the edges and the stuff usually comes off easily. Snakes and tape definitely don't mix as you've found out. I also found out long ago when I used some electrical tape to secure a vine in the enclosure and found my python taped to her perch! I learned my lesson-no tape around snakes! The oil worked well.

Recently we had a snake get caught on a bug-trap sheet in our basement. My dad, being completely awesome, slowly slowly peeled the snake off the sheet. Everytime the snake got lifted up off the sheet, we would put a kleenex on the sheet there, so in case the snake fell back down, he wouldn't be stuck again. We then let him go outside.

Try that. Like people have said, try some water - maybe a little warm. Then peel slowly!

I would try vegetable oil,dab it on and rub it in,then gently work the tape off.Or,you could try soaking the snake in lukewarm water ( you'd have to use a covered container) Whatever you can't get off will come off the next time the snake sheds.

Poor snake! Call a vet and ask for advice.

I can't say I've had any experience with your problem, but I'd be worried about using cooking spray because if your snake inhales any of it the oil will stick to his lungs and impair his ability to breathe.

Cooking oil.

Let it soak in and very gently peel it off.

Goo gone will work as long as it's no where near the snake's face and you rinse the area very well.
