Ok, my friend is like the skinniest girl in school, and i'm really worried. I think she might have an eatting disorder. I've asked my parents and they say I should've worry to much. I've looked up some of the symptoms and she's got a ton. Like always cold, always tired, has hair growing all over body while other hair is falling out. I mean she's always complaining that she needs to shave. I'm so worried because, people die form anorexia and bulimia. My friend says her brother weighs more than her. And she's like 4 or 5 grades ahead of him! I know I shouldn't worry this much but still. If you've had a friend like this please share your stories and your advice. She needs help, but I don't know how.

She seems to eat what she gets at lunch. But my friend says when she goes to her house she hardly eats anything. I think that maybe it's bulimia. I think that's where you throw up, even if you do eat. so that way, you don't gain the nutrients, it just comes back up.

go straight to her and sit her butt down. tell her you are worried about her health and that you cannot and will not sit around watching her kill herself. take her by the hand lead her to her mom and ask her to help her daughter asap. never ignore those signs. your mom was wrong on that. she would want to be told if someone knew you had a problem that was destroying you. go armed with literature.
good luck. you are a good friend.

by the way those symptoms are not exclusive to an eating disorder. it could be something else. while my body was doing the same people started saying i had aids. (this was over 20 years back when aids first started hitting the wires). i never used a needle or did i have unprotected sex. nor did i ever have same sex-sex.
i had ovarian cancer.

You can do anything. It s an illness to be treated by a doctor. Her parents must be dealing with this I guess. If not, talk to them. She is not going to listen to you. Mabe you already did, it s ok. But don t expect so much. Maybe a counselor in school might help you to deal with yr worries and guide you and her what to do. Meanwhile if you know to pray, just pray for her, so she can see a doctor to check the kind of disorder she has.
I understand if yr friend you worry, but don t get too much involved as yr parents say.

This is a hard thing to deal with..I would know. My previous best friend was a bulimic, still not sure if she continues to be one today. She felt ugly and fat so she made herself throw up...I wasn't sure why and I wasn't sure how to make her stop..Of course I couldn't make her stop. I just simply had to remind her that she is pretty. Never try to say anything directly just say little reminders "You need to gain some weight" "You're really pretty, don't ever think differently" You should sit down with your friend and ask her if she has an eating disorder...It's better than not knowing and letting it go on behind your back.

Hmm...try talking to your parents again, and really let them know about all of the symptoms/signs of eating disorders you are seeing in your friend. Maybe they can talk to your friends parents to see what's going on and what you can do to help. Be sure to stand by your friend, because an eating disorder is difficult and she will have a hard time getting over it. Don't judge her or think less of her because of this.

Your Friend needs help. You are smart enough to observe this. It's obvious you are a dear Friend. Talk to her and if she doesn't pay any attention to you. You will then have a confidential conversation with your school counselor. Hopefully both of you attend the same school. If not you will have to speak to her mother and tell her what you know. And maybe she will take it from there. Maybe that will work. If not you will then have to wash your hands of it. You would have done your best.

Is there a counselor or teacher at school that you can confide in? They may able to keep an eye on her and report on her "condition" to her parents with the wisdom of an adult's eye.

Also, have you talked to your friend yourself? Let her know that you're concerned - don't come off as judgemental or harsh or she might not want to confide in you. Let her know that you're always there to talk if she needs someone.

But if you're truly afraid that she's harming herself, let a trustworthy adult know.

Go to your school counselor. He or she is trained to handle these problems. Your parents are not helping at all. They should have contacted your friend's parents. They need to get her to a Dr. right away.

My daugher's best friend died from anorexia. It is a very serious matter.

You must care about your friend very much and it's good that you're worried about her. I would go to the school counselor and talk to her about your concerns. Maybe he/she could offer some good advice. If you feel comfortable enough, maybe you could even talk to her parents about your concerns.

What I would to is tell a teacher or someone at school that way they will notice it too, if they think it's serious they will somehow get help that you can't get. Do your other friends know? I agree that it could be serious. Watch her at lunch, does she eat?

well you should watch her when she eats just be an inspector on her eating because you cant say she is anorexic or bulimec if she is skinny ... because their are alot of people who are skinny and eat healthy so just watch her offer her some food and if she refuses then really WATCH her
hope she gets better
actually i hope nothing is wrong with her in the first place
