What do people expect to be an answer when they ask me (a white female) "why do you date black guys?"

My answer is usually why not. Because I never really thought about it. And honestly I feel why not, I see no problem with it. So what are these people expecting?
And if you have been in this situation, what has your answers been?
And if not, why don't you date interracially?

I don't date only black guys... but they are the only one I get the question for... I mean come on no one is going to come up to me and ask me why I'm dating a white guy.
Also, I've had white guys who refuse to date me because I've been with black guys, which to them I really don't care because I don't want to be with someone that prejudice anyway. I just think its sad that people see race as a boundary.

Wow, you really have me thinking here. That is actually a good question, as it makes me take my life into more perspective.

One thing about my life as I look back is that I have attracted a lot of black women. And I was great to every single one of them, not that I really want to classify as such, I'm more of the color blind type of guy. I see the woman that she is, not the color of her skin.

No, I have never dated interracially. The reason why is because my family forbids it. They have pounded into my head that they do not want me dating a black woman, ever since I was a little boy. I am Hispanic, and my family would rather see me date and marry a Hispanic woman, and they also smile upon a white woman as well. But they frown on me dating a black woman. To tell you the truth, I don't see a difference. If she is good to me, then there should be nothing wrong with her. But I guess I've always stuck to the fact that I should honor my parents wishes, no matter how old I am. Although I should take my own life by the horns, I am not happy unless my family is too.

I think a lot of negative influences have stopped us from dating interracially. It may be from friends, to parents, bigots, or just the plain old attraction factor. Would I like to date interracially? You bet I would, if she were good to me and my family and friends.

I have a white friend that only dates black guys and I've never questioned it. To me she's dating a human being and that's all that matters. I've dated a white, black, mexican, and other races and I honestly didn't see color or race (I'm married now). I think people who are not open minded ask questions like this. My older son knows not to ever tell me he's dating a black, chinese or any other race because it would piss me off, not because of their race but because I feel that I have raised my child well enough for him to know I would accept anyone he's with, so there would be no need to forewarn me, even if it turned out to be another man.

These people are either not open-minded, racists, prejudice, and/or hold some stereotypical views. That's why they ask such ignorant and rude questions. I've been in the same situation for the past 4yrs. I'm African American and my boyfriend is Mexican American. I always say "why not" or I turn it around and ask "why are they're dating their spouse", that leaves them with a goofy look. Race means nothing to my boyfriend and I , we don't even notice. I think it's fun because we are both exposed to more than one culture; keeps things interesting.

I am biracial so I can go either way. Most of my black friends really don't like to see black guys with white girls because around here most of the girls are trashy. But I don't care I've dated middle eastern guys, white guys, and black. I say it shouldn't matter if you are attracted to someone and have a strong connection.

1. I guess they want to know because you are "specifically" focused on black guys instead of dating , White, Chinese, Jewish, Spanish, Asian etc.
2. Old wives tales. Because they are wondering how he is in bed. They have always considered how it would be sleeping with one themselves.
3. They are racist and cannot see beyond color.

Just ask them why they are asking that question. They will be one of the 3.

I would date a black girl if I liked her and really wanted to - skin color has nothing to do with anything. I think some white girls who date black guys only do so because they have this false idea in their head that black guys are tougher, stronger, and more masculine than other races. But this is only gossip and things that I've heard, not a first-hand expirience.

I have dated a couple Hispanics, but never any other races. I don't know why, I have never really thought about it too much either. I'm married now, but I always dated whoever I found chemistry with. No matter their race.

i dont date interracially, simply because i married my first boyfriend...but if we were not together i dont see anything wrong with it. if someone from an opposite race asked me out, and i wasnt married i'd go for it...seems like it would be intresting to date someone that was "different" then what im used to

Society in general is not yet ready to accept certain types of inter-racial marriages. This seemed to be true to marriages between blacks and whites. Perhaps its the continuation of the stigma associated from the days of slavery. I feel for the resulting off-springs who while growing up do not understand why they are treated differently.
