Or is it merely human nature?

It is possible, if we make it a crime against humanity to pre-emptively attack another country. With some real teeth in such an international law.

Plus make it illegal for any country to provide or sell arms to another country. Countries would only have the right to have a military for defensive reasons.

The consequences of making war on another country has only one option, a nutron bomb over their capital.

That may sound like madness, yet MAD has worked for 50 years, there is no reason we can't put an end to war in the same way.

Note: that won't take care of terrorism or civil wars. Civil wars are a country matter and are exempt. It only becomes an international matter when it spills over its borders.

Who administers this? The UN with one hell of a lot of power and an international military machine thats sole purpose is to keep the peace.

This is a very simple concept, make war and suffer the consequences. No wiggle room -- no excuses, no nothing.

Then our next order of business should be to go to the stars and make that a mantra for the human race. Otherwise we're going to eventually eat ourselves out of our own home.

Peace

Jim

It is human nature. There will never be no more war. The only way there would be no more war is if there were no more people, and that's not going to happen in our lifetime..

not as long as the few, the greedy and the ruthless can make huge profits from starting and maintaining wars.

3 BILLION dollars a week spent on Iraq and the Iraqis don't even have electricity. where is all that money going?

well... I mean I think it's possible...

no time in the near future though...

I mean if you asked 100 years if women would ever have rights and be able to vote... everyone would have laughed at you and said... "you must be smoking weed or live in lalaland"

now... in many countries women are getting these rights... but it takes time... years and years...

and war is a much harder goal relatively...

We will leave Iraq in probably 7-10 years. There will be an end to the war then.

It's human nature - there will always be war. We're all sharing this planet, and we're all different.

The Iraqi Horror Picture Show, though, will go on until your grandchildren's grandchildren graduate from college.
